U9 Summit Series

Welcome to the U9 “Summit Series”!

This fun and developmental weekend follows the Hockey Calgary/Hockey Alberta U9 Intro-to-Hockey model, focusing on fair play, equal ice time, and enjoyment for all participants. Our goal is to create a relaxed, family-friendly tournament that allows players to grow, have fun, and make great memories in the mountains.

Venue Information:

All games will be played at the Lake Louise Outdoor Rink, a truly unique mountain hockey experience! The facility features a natural outdoor ice surface sheltered under a large quonset-style hut, offering a classic outdoor feel with protection from wind and snow. While temperatures can be cool, there are heated dressing rooms available, and the rink sides can be closed if needed for additional comfort.

The community hall is licensed for liquor service and provides a great hangout space for adults, along with entertainment opportunities for kids, making it convenient to spend the full day at the venue without extra driving.

Tournament Format

• 6 participating teams total (Tier 1)
• Half-ice format 
• Straight six-team round robin – all teams play one another (no standings or finals)
• 4 Games Guaranteed
• Two 25-minute halves
• 1-minute half-time break (unless temperature is too cold, in that case, teams will be provided a 15-minute intermission to warm up)

Interested teams can submit their Expression of Interest via the Google Form link. Selected teams will receive a detailed Welcome Package at a later date, including the schedule, sponsors, and additional team info.
