Special

In all Community Leagues, there has been one significant change to the game format and special rules for the 2016 Mayfair City Championships:

  • If the score is tied at the end of regulation, teams will play five (5) minutes of sudden death overtime.  If game remains tied at the end of overtime, the winner will be determined by shoot-out.

The following overtime format will be observed in the Midget AA and Junior B series:

  • Games tied at the end of regulation will continue with five (5) minutes of sudden death overtime, played five on five.
  • If the teams are still tied the next five (5) minutes will be played four on four.
  • If the teams are still tied teams will play three on three until a goal is scored.
  • If the game remains tied and cannot be concluded due to unforseen circumstances, the Elite Council, in conjunction with Hockey Calgary, will determine a tie breaking format to declare a winner.
