Hockey Alberta Award – Ed Williamson

April 2015

This year’s recipient has been a long time volunteer in hockey and has donated countless hours of time to the betterment of the game in both Alberta and here in Calgary.  He has volunteered for over 40 years with the last 25 of those directly involved with Hockey Calgary in one form or another.  He has been involved as a coach, manager, mentor, scout, and most recently as the league governor for bantam AA hockey here in the city, and this year he even took on more responsibility as he agreed to step in as the midget governor as well.

His passion is for the players and the coaches and he is always there to lend a helping hand whenever it is needed.  Whether it be organizing an all-star game or coordinating the playoff draw he is the first to put up his hand to help out.  He can always be found at the rink with a big grin on his face chatting with the numerous people that have come to know and respect him no matter where you are in the province.
