Hockey Calgary is proud to present the Hockey Calgary Coach Night Series brought to you by Score Hockey Range. The Series is aimed at bringing coaches together to learn some new skills, to share ideas, and to 'nerd out' with a group of passionate coaches. 

Idea sharing is an important part of coaching. The Hockey Calgary Coach Night Series is the beginning of an initiative to create a community network of coaches in the city of Calgary to facility idea and resource sharing and support. With the help and involvement of great coaches, we will improve our base and push each other to get better and in turn, improve the development and experience of children playing the great game of hockey.

January 21st, 2026 - Player and Goaltender Development with Riley Hearn and Theo Zubot

Theo Zubot and Riley Hearn will be joining us on January 21st at Northeast Sportsplex from 6:45PM-8:15PM on the ice. Each guest coach will take an end of the ice for 45 minutes. At the halfway mark of the ice time each group will switch sides so that coaches can hear from both presenters. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from two of the great coaches in Calgary!

January 29th, 2026 - Compassionate Hardass with Tara McCool and Theo Fleury

Theoren Fleury (Stanley Cup Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist,  NHL All-Star, Author and Mental Health Advocate) joins Tara McCool, creator of the Compassionate Hard-Ass™ leadership method to discuss challenges you face as minor hockey coaches and how connecting with parents and players will set your team up for success. Tara's presentation, titled "Communicating Like a Compassionate Hard-Ass™" will focus on the following:

• What kind of leader are you?
• The way you communicate impacts results
• Defining values & expectations
• Managing conflict head-on strengthens culture
• Rewarding the right behaviours
