Elite Player Movement Request

ELITE PLAYER MOVEMENT REQUEST PROCESS

Within Calgary, players are required to play for the Elite team(s) that corresponds to the player’s residence, as set out in the Hockey Calgary Regulations. If, a player wishes to request an exception, the following application process must be followed:

  • The player completes an Elite Player Movement Application Form.
     
  • Player submits the Elite Player Movement Form below and any supporting documents by June 1 (no exceptions) to the Hockey Calgary office.
     
  • Hockey Calgary Office notifies the player’s resident Elite Member Club that the player has submitted an application to move.
     
  • The Resident Elite Member Club is asked to respond within five (5) days with their comments on the application.
     
  • The Hockey Calgary Office reviews the application which includes the Elite Member Club’s comments.
     
  • The Hockey Calgary Office approves or denies movement (a decision will be rendered, via formal letter, emailed, prior to July 1).
     
  • Notification of decision will be sent out from the Hockey Calgary Office to the Player, Elite Member Clubs involved.
     
  • In the case that an affected Member is dissatisfied with the decision, the Hockey Calgary Appeals process may be accessed.

 

Important Notes:

  1. Elite Player Movement will only be considered due to Exceptional Circumstances. Circumstances that WILL NOT be considered include sibling request, dispute with current member club, coaches, players, parents, etc.
     
  2. Elite Player Movement will not be considered in a Boundary Review year.
