FREE Hockey Day Camp hosted by the University of Calgary’s Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre in partnership with Hockey Calgary.
- Tuesday, July 4 - Bowness Arena (Bantam Only)
- Thursday, July 6 - Rose Kohn Arena (Midget Only)
- Tuesday, July 11 - Bowness Arena (Pee Wee Only)
- Thursday, July 13 - Rose Kohn (ALL Pee Wee, Bantam & Midget)
- Monday, July 17 - Northeast Sportsplex (Pee Wee Only)
- Tuesday, July 18 - Northeast Sportsplex (Girls Only)
- Thursday, July 20 - Rose Kohn Arena (Bantams Only)
- Tuesday, August 1 - Olympic Oval (Midget Only)
- Wednesday, August 2 - Olympic Oval (Bantam & Midget Only)
- Thursday, August 3 - Olympic Oval (Girls Only)
Camp details as follows:
- The camp is FREE (no fees included)
- Eligibility: Pee Wee, Bantam, and Midget going into the 2017-2018 season
- Male and Female players born 2000-2006 AND returning study participants from previous testing.
- There will be 2 ice times throughout the day including Hockey Canada Skills Testing and a skills session with a guest coach.
- The day will also include baseline concussion testing by the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre
- As a participant in this camp the player will be signed up for the Safe To Play study through the University of Calgary. With this will come access to follow-up with a sport medicine physician for any suspected concussion.
- Players are required to bring:
- their own hockey equipment, a (cold) lunch, 2 snacks, a water bottle, and running shoes.
- Hockey Calgary will provide jerseys for the players to wear on the ice, and players will receive free participation goodies.
