We would like to extend you an invitation to participate in our four game round robin tournament. The tournament will take place in Tilley, Alberta, February 21-23.

 

Schedule: 75 minute games, FLOODS every 2nd period, time slots allow for flood time

Friday February 21

Game 1 5:00pm- 6:30pm

Game 2 6:30pm- 8:00pm

Saturday February 22

Game 3 10:00am-11:30am

Game 4 11:30am-1:00pm

Game 5 3:00pm-4:30pm

Game 6 4:30pm-6:00pm 

Sunday February 23

Game 7 10:00am-11:30am B FINAL

Game 8 11:30am-1:00pm A FINAL

Each team will be expected to provide the tournament entry fee of $1400, cheques made payable to 

Bow River Bruins Bantam 3 Gold, by November 1, 2019.  This fee will cover our ice booking, referees and tournament loot and team snacks. 

 

Please have your team complete the registration form below and return it back to me with your payment, and 12 Roster Stickers, no later than November 1, 2019. 

Failure to provide the information by this date will forfeit your teams place in this tournament.

2020 Tournament Rules

 

All games will be played in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Minor Hockey Association of Calgary. 

The referee’s decision is final. 

 

Tournament Format

All teams are guaranteed 3 round robin games plus 1 final game.   

During the round robin play, teams will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 for a loss.

 

Ties in Standings

Ties in the standings after the round robin series are completed will be broken as follows: 

 

If 2 Teams are Tied 

If the teams are tied, then the winner will be decided by the record between the head to head game. 

If the teams are still tied, the winner will be decided by the Best Plus/Minus (goals for - goals against) 

If the teams are still tied, the winner will be decided by least goals against. 

If the teams are still tied, the winner  will be decided by Differential Equation

              (GF/ (Goals For-Goals Against) the larger number wins

If the teams are still tied, the winner will be decided by quickest goal in the tournament

 

If 3 or More teams are Tied

If there is a 3 way tie, the placement of the teams will be determined by Best Plus/Minus 

(Goals For - Goals Against).   

If still tied, the winner will be decided by least goals against. 

If still tied, the winner will be decided by Best Differential (Formula = Goals for/(Goals for + Goals Against)) the larger number wins

If the teams are still tied, the winner will be decided by quickest Goal Scored in the tournament

 

Game Format

All games will begin and end at the scheduled time.

There will be a three-minute warm-up from the scheduled start time. 

All 1.25 hr, games 15, 15, 15 minute stop time periods.  If a game cannot be completed within the allotted time, the referee will notify the officials and have the game clock set to 2 minutes.

 

Tie Games

Tie games will end in a tie except for the A/B Final Games. 

 

Finals – Overtime Shootout

The goalie that ends the game will be the goalie for the shootout. 

To commence overtime, each team will provide 3 players to shootout. Coaches will select their 3 players at time of shootout. They will submit their 3-player list to the timekeeper’s box before the shootout begins. 

All 3 players will shoot. The team that has the most goals after the 3 players shoot will be considered the winner. 

If after 3 shooters the game is still tied the coach selects 3 new shooters.  It then becomes a sudden death format with each team having the same number of shots.

Note: No repeating shooters at any time until every player has shot.
