Eye Opener Rules
- all games will be played in accordance with Hockey Calgary rules.
- referee's decision is final
Game Format
- games will be 90 mins in length - stop time periods of 15-15-20 - No Flood
- teams will be allowed a 3 minute warm up
- Drop clock : when 5 minutes remain in the permit, the clock will drop to 2 minutes
- 3 on 3 : if the game is tied with 5 minutes remaining , at the next stoppage in play teams will play 3 on 3 for the remainder of the game (NOT Sudden Death) ; drop clock rule still applies
- if a penalty is called during 3 on 3 , the non offending team will be awarded a penalty shot
- Shootout : if the game remains tied at the end of regulation , a 3 player shoot out will take place ; if still tied, 1 player from each team will shoot until a winner is determined . No player will shoot twice until all players have shot
Tournament Format
- 2 pools of 4 teams will each play 3 round robin games
- top 2 teams in each pool will play a cross over semi final (1A vs 2B , 2A vs 1B)
- winners advance to A final , losers to B final
- 3rd vs 3rd & 4th vs 4th cross over consolation games
- Points : win = 2 ; shoot out loss = 1 , loss = 0
Ties in Standings:
if 2 teams are tied, the tie will be broken in the following order:
1 . head to head result between the 2 tied teams
2. best plus/minus (GF - GA)
3. least goals against
4. differential equation (GF/GF+GA) the larger number wins
5. quickest goal in the tournament
if 3 teams are tied, the tie will be broken in the following order:
1. best plus/minus (GF - GA)
2. least goals against
3. differential equation (GF/GF+GA) the larger number wins
4. quickest goal in the tournament

- Games will take place at Murray Copot arena
