CROWCHILD CHALLENGE ATOM 1 or AA

Dear Hockey Colleague: 

On behalf of the Crowchild Challenge Tournament Committee and the Northwest Warriors Hockey Association (formerly Crowchild and Westwood) I would like to extend an invitation to your Minor Hockey Association to attend the 35nd Annual Crowchild Challenge Hockey Tournament in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Crowchild Challenge is one of the premier tournaments in Western Canada for top level (AA or Tier 1) Atom and Pee Wee players, with up to 16 teams participating in the two age groups.

This year we are pleased to announce an exciting change to the tournament; it is being held October 7 to October 9, 2016. This will allow teams to kick off their season at a highly competitive tournament to build team camaraderie and assess their competition.

The Crowchild Challenge is unique in that we have been honored to host top ranked teams from across Western Canada, and in addition, we have been pleased to welcome teams from as far away as Northwest and Yukon Territories, California, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Czech Republic. Many participants have gone on to play in the WHL and NHL, including current NHL stars Jarome Iginla, Jay Bouwmeester and Dion Phaneuf.

The Crowchild Challenge tournament offers a minimum of four 90 minute games (some teams will play 5 games), opening ceremony, a BBQ and pancake breakfast for participating teams, and free admission for spectators. Games will be played at the Crowchild Twin Arena and other arenas in the area. Tournament registration fee is $1,500, with a non-refundable deposit of $500 due upon registration to hold your spot, with the balance due by September 16th, 2016.
