2016 ESSO MINOR HOCKEY WEEK
Game Format and Special Rules

Esso Minor Hockey Week begins this weekend and preparations are complete for what should be another memorable 9 days of minor hockey in Calgary!

There has been one significant change to the Esso Minor Hockey Week Rules this season.

• All games EXCEPT finals - winner will be decided by shoot-out (no change).
• Final games only - teams will play 5 minutes of sudden death overtime (4 on 4 - may be 3 skaters and a goaltender or 4 skaters and no goaltender).  If game remains tied the winner will be decided by shoot-out using the same format as above.

In addition, like during the regular season teams are NOT permitted time-outs and goaltenders may not be pulled at any time, including overtime, in the Novice Division.
