Crowfoot Atom Invasion Cup

Dates:  Wednesday to Sunday December 9th to 13th

Games:  Each team is guaranteed 4 games

Arena:  Crowfoot Arena

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

This is a 4 team tournament with 1 hour ice times and each team will play 4 games.

The first 3 games will be a round robin format, followed by an "A" and "B" final on Sunday.  There will be no overtime in the round robin games.

Points are earned as follows:

- win = 2 points

- tie = 1 point

- loss = 0 points

Teams will be ranked 1 to 4 based on their points earned during the Round Robin.  Teams ranked 1 & 2 will play in the "A" final and teams ranked 3 & 4 will play in the "B" final.

Ties at the end of the Round Robin will be settled as follows:

- winner of the game played between tied teams

- highest goal average formula GF/(GF+GA)

- least goals against

- fewest penalty minutes

- coin toss

GAME LENGTH

All games will be 15-15-12 periods with stop time.

No time outs are permitted.

All games must be completed within the ice time provided.  The timekeeper will reset the clock to 2 minutes stop time, as necessary, to ensure on-time completion of each game.

PLAYOFF TIES

Playoff ties will be settled with a 3-man shootout.  Home team has the option to shoot first or second.

If the game is still tied after the 3-man shootout, a sudden death shootout will decide the winner.

Each team must use every player on the bench before allowing any of the original 3 shootout players to shoot again.

JERSEYS

Home teams will wear light colored jerseys and visiting teams will wear dark colored jerseys.

AWARDS

"Heart & Hustle" will be awarded to one player of each team following every game, as decided by the coaches of that team.

Medals will be presented to all players following the A and B finals.

GAME SHEETS

Each team is responsible for filling out the game sheet with their roster at least 15 minutes prior to game time.

TIMEKEEPERS AND SCOREKEEPERS

The home team of each game will supply the timekeeper as well as the score keeper.

SPORTSMANSHIP

It is expected that all coaches, players, parents and other spectators will show respect and sportsmanship at all times while in attendance at the tournament.  The tournament committee has the right to revokethe tournament privileges of any coach, player, parent or spectator who they deem to have acted sufficiently inappropriate, whether on or off the ice, to warrant this descilinary action.  No financial reimbursemnt will be provided in this instance.

APPEALS

Referee on-ice calls are final and no protests will be accepted.  Hockey Calgary rules will apply.

DRESSING ROOMS

Rooms are available 30 minutes prior to the game and must be vacated within 30 minutes after the end of the game and should be left clean.  No food or drinks beyond water bottles permitted in the dressing rooms.  Coaches are responsible for discipline and the condition of the dressing rooms.
