Within Calgary, players must register with their designated Member Club as determined by the residence of the player on September 1st of the current playing season. If the player resides outside the Member Club boundaries they wish to register with, the player may apply to Hockey Calgary for Player Movement.
The Player Movement webform must be completed by the parent/guardian in the case of a minor player. If needed, Hockey Calgary may consult with the affected Member Clubs, who will provide any additional information or position on the request. After the consultation period, Hockey Calgary will provide written notification of our final decision to all parties. If the request is granted the player is then eligible to register with the preferred Member Club and that association is now considered the permanent resident member club. If the request is denied the player is entitled to appeal in accordance with Hockey Calgary Regulation All Streams 26.
No player will be allowed to skate or try out in any hockey program until properly released by Hockey Calgary as well as obtained any necessary waivers.
CRITERIA WHICH MAY BE CONSIDERED FOR GRANTING PLAYER MOVEMENT
* Community ties criteria does not apply in years where Boundary Review has taken place
** Circumstances that WILL NOT be considered under Criteria 6 include disputes with the member club, coach, player, parent, etc.
Please note that if your preferred Member Club is either Recreational Hockey Calgary (RHC) or Girls Hockey Calgary (GHC) a release from your current Member Club is not necessary, you do not complete this form. Please contact the RHC or GHC registrar directly for further information on registration.
