2018 Bantam 2 Alberta Cup

     Feb 24-25, 2018

 

Each team will play a three game Round Robin. Two points will be awarded for a win, one point for a tie, and zero points for a loss.

The two teams with the highest points total will play in the A Final. The two teams with the lowest points total will play in the B Final.

Home teams will be the first team listed and will wear light jerseys. Away teams will wear dark jerseys. All teams participating are encouraged to bring both sets of jerseys for play.

SPORTSMANSHIP:

Good sportsmanship will be stressed throughout the tournament.   It is expected that Players, Coaches and families and guests conduct themselves in a respectful way.

ELIGIBILITY:

All Hockey Alberta rules apply regarding affiliation. All teams must be registered with Hockey Canada. No players will be allowed to play unless they are completely outfitted in proper equipment.

TEAM ROSTERS:

ALL players must be listed on the official team roster.

 

OFFICIALS:

Each team must supply two (2) off ice officials. The home team will be responsible for the timekeeper and home penalty box, and the visiting team will be responsible for the scorekeeper and the visitor penalty box. 

ROUND ROBIN GAMES:

Each game will consist of a maximum five-minute warm up and 2/ 20 minute periods and 1/ 15 minute period. Games are scheduled to be up to a maximum of 90 minutes with a flood after the first period.  If the game is tied, points will be awarded for the tie.

FINAL GAMES:

All rules apply from round robin play, with the only difference being:

If the game is tied, and 10 minutes of ice time remain, a 5 minute sudden death over-time period will be played. 
If there is <10 minutes of available ice time, or if the game remains tied after an overtime period, the game will go into an immediate sudden death shoot-out to determine the final score.
Coaches will select the order of shooters, with the starting three shooters ready and on ice.  A shooter may not shoot again until all team members have shot. Home teams will shoot first.

 

PLAYING TIME:

We encourage all coaches to give players equal playing time.

PENALTIES:

Abusive coaches, parents, and players who exhibit acts of unsportsmanlike conduct towards any player, referee and/or tournament volunteers will be ejected from the tournament facilities.

APPEALS:

No game protests will be accepted. The Referees decision shall be FINAL.

AWARDS:

Teams will receive a small team-bag of goodies at the start of the tournament, with game booklets.  An award will be given to the A Final winning team.

 

A/B FINAL GAME NOTIFIER

Within the hour following Game Six completion, each team manager will receive an email or personal notification at the rink.
