If still tied after three shooters, coaches will pick a different player each round and continue the shootout until both teams have had equal shooters and one team is ahead by one goal. Coaches must use their entire roster before returning to the first three players.

TIEBREAKERS:

TWO TEAMS TIED

  • The winner of the round robin game between the two tied teams will gain the higher position.
  • If the two teams are still tied the team with the greatest goal differential in all round robin games played will gain the higher position.
  • If the two teams are still tied the team with the fewest goals against in all round robin games played will gain the higher position.
  • If the two teams are still tied the team with the most goals for in all round robin games played will gain the higher position.
  • If the two teams are still tied the team with the lowest penalty minutes in all round robin games played will gain the higher position
  • If the two teams are still tied, a coin toss shall determine the winner.

THREE OR MORE TEAMS TIED
The three or four team tiebreaker is used to determine the seeding of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams or the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams. If any step in the tiebreaker only seeds one team, that team assumes the higher position. The remaining teams will move onto the next tiebreaker rule to determine the seeding of the two remaining teams. At no time will teams using this formula go back to the two-team tiebreaker.

  • If the teams are tied, the greatest goal differential in all round robin games played will determine the final order
  • If the teams are still tied the team with the fewest goals against in all round robin games played will determine the final order.
  • If the teams are still tied the team with the most goals for in all round robin games played will determine the final order.
  • If the teams are still tied the team with the lowest penalty minutes in all round robin games played will determine the final order.
  • If the teams are still tied, a coin toss shall determine the final order
