ESSO MINOR HOCKEY WEEK KICKS OFF FRIDAY
CALGARY, ALTA - Hockey Calgary and Imperial Oil are pleased to announce the kick off to the 44th annual Esso Minor Hockey Week. The opening ceremonies will take place on Friday, Jan. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Crowchild Twin Arenas, Arena Blue.
"This year we celebrate 35 years with Esso. Imperial Oil continues to support minor hockey in our City and we are thankful to have such a great community partner,” said Kevin Kobelka, Executive Director, Hockey Calgary. “To kids in Calgary, Esso Minor Hockey Week is the Stanley Cup of tournaments and we wish everyone involved a safe and fun week.”
The opening ceremonies will see some of Calgary's favourite mascots, Calgary Flames Ice Crew and over 50 minor hockey kids.

Esso Minor Hockey Week is the largest minor hockey tournament in the world, seeing over 11,000 kids, 656 teams, 927 games, 2,600 coaches and 4,000 volunteers throughout the week. This year Esso Minor Hockey Week is taking place between Jan. 10 – Jan. 18, 2014.

Registration for representing your division at the 2014 Esso Minor Hockey Week Opening Ceremonies is now OPEN online. We would like all 70 divisions to be there, please spread the word and sign up as soon as possible.
We are looking for volunteers to help us organize players for presentations at the 2014 Opening Ceremonies. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Lisa Rosengarten, Coordinator, Communications & Events via e-mail with your name and contact information.
