#YYCHKYLeaders Award

On Feb 13,2018 after their game at Oakridge, the Crowfoot Peewee had a surprise visit from Kevin Kobelka, Executive Director of Hockey Calgary and Rob Kerr from the Fan 960.   Over the season the Crowfoot Peewee 1 team, has completed serveral community service initiatives.  For all of their time and effort they were recognized with the following:

  • 20 tickets in a Suite, to the Calgary Hitmen game Sunday Feb. 18 at 2:00 PM
  • A practice on Saddledome ice led by the Calgary Hitmen Coach, time TBD

Here are just a few of the things that they did.

  • The team got together with a Timbits team in their community, the players went to a Timbits practice and became their "hockey buddies".  They supplied Timbits and hot chocolate for their Buddies after the practice.
  • They went to the Arbour Lake Senior Residence, they were too young to help in the kitchen, so they brought some Christmas treats and visited and played games with the residents.   They also served ice cream to all in attendance at the party afterwards.
  • The Coyotes also stuffed socks for the Calgary Drop In Centre just prior to Christmas, this activity included, filling socks with basic essentials for those in need.
  • They wrapped up their good deeds at the Boys and Girls Club in Bowness.  The boys each took a turn cleaning in the kitchen.  If they weren't in the kitchen, they were playing with the kids.

Giving Back can be so simple, yet it can change lives in the most positive way.

Thank you Crowfoot Peewee 1 for making a difference in the community.
