CDC City Championships Kick Off Today

CALGARY, AB – Hockey Calgary and Canada Diagnostic Centres (CDC) have teamed up to bring Calgary minor hockey players the CDC City Championships.  The CDC City Championships will kick off today, Feb. 20 for quadrant hockey and on Feb. 26 for community hockey.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Canada Diagnostic Centres for the 2013 CDC City Championships. CDC allows us to give Calgary minor hockey players an incredible hockey experience,” said Christina Rogers, Manager, Communications, Hockey Calgary. “With CDC on board, teams can look forward to a fun, exciting and memorable Championship.”

CDC City Championships will take place in Calgary arenas throughout the city and will see over 400 teams and over 8,000 players ranging from atom to junior. Most importantly, the tournament is a provincial qualifier, which means Calgary players will be working particularly hard to earn their medals.

“Canada Diagnostic Centres is very excited for this, our second year of a three year partnership with Hockey Calgary,” said Lorne Paperny, President of Canada Diagnostic Centres.  “As a community based group of clinics with strong ties to the families and friends of the over 8,000 participants, it is our pleasure to provide support to these young athletes.  This is part of CDC’s commitment to our broader community, and support of active living as a means to achieving exceptional health.”
