A Message from our Executive Director

September 9, 2016

Welcome to another great season of hockey!!  On behalf of the Hockey Calgary board of directors and the operational staff I would like to welcome everyone back, and wish you all the success in the upcoming year.  As the Executive Director for Hockey Calgary, I look forward to getting to the rink and witnessing some great hockey, but most importantly I look forward to seeing the smiles on our athlete’s faces, as they get back to playing the game they love.

This season will again bring some change to our programs, we have expanded our house league program, added more non-body checking divisions to midget and will be testing a new league structure in atom. While there may be some hiccups along the way, we hope you will support these new programs as we work to make the hockey experience in Calgary successful for all.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the countless volunteers who enable us to run a successful program. You keep the game going strong and help us to be a leader in the hockey world. Without your dedication and love for the game, it would not be available to our 13,500 players.

Once again this year we will have a number of exciting events supporting the great game of hockey in our city.  These include the TimBit Learn to Play Program, the BT Winter Classic, the Mayfair City Championships and Esso Minor Hockey Week, just to name a few.  I encourage you to come out and support these events throughout the year.

The season will be busy and filled with laughter, new friendships and great hockey. I would like to wish everyone a safe and fun hockey season, I hope to see you at the rink!

 Regards,

Kevin Kobelka
