Hockey AB - Rinks to Links Program

July 14, 2016

The Hockey Alberta Foundation runs an annual program called, "Every Kid, Every Community: Rinks to Links" that provides children, who would not otherwise have the means, the opportunity to participate in the great sports of hockey and golf. The program began 3 years ago and has given children the chance to learn skills and acquire the necessary hockey equipment to hopefully move into minor hockey or other hockey programs in their community. This year the event will be held at the Country Hills Golf Club on Tuesday, August 2.

Schedule of Events

10:00am: Golf session with CPGA Tour Pros @ Country Hills Golf Club

11:00am: Lunch at the Country Hills Golf Club

11:30am: Travel to the arena (location TBD)

At the arena, we will have equipment from the Comrie's Sports Equipment Bank ready for the children that will include skates, all body equipment, helmets, gloves, sticks and jerseys. There will be staff, as well as professional hockey celebrities present to help with equipment and lead an ice session that teaches the children the basic fundamentals of hockey. This session lasts about 1-1.5 hours and all equipment provided to the children will be given to them afterwards to take home.

If this is something that interests your group, please contact Holly Martin at hmartin@hockeyalberta.ca or by phone at 403-342-6777.
