Calgary, Alberta - This weekend two Calgary London Drugs locations will be clearing out a selection of composite brand name Jr sticks, and high performance Jr and Sr skates at deeply discounted prices.
But bargain hunters won’t be the only winners. The event will also help youngsters play hockey in Calgary and surrounding area this year. For every stick and skate combo package sold on March 28th and 29th, London Drugs will donate $10 to KidSport Calgary to help subsidize registration fees for kids from lower income families.
“No kid should be denied the right to play due to financial limitations,” says Kevin Webster, executive director of KidSport Calgary. “Each donation gives youth in our city the chance to participate.”
Customers are also invited to drop off their gently used hockey equipment for donation to KidSport and Comrie’s Sports Equipment Bank. The equipment bank, launched this past summer, helps address a major hurdle that keeps many kids out of sports and that is the cost of equipment.
