Timbits Learn To Play Program

The Timbits Learn to Play Hockey Program will provide parents, coaches and first time Timbit players an opportunity to experience Timbits Hockey and in a fun and educational environment.  

Players will participate in four (4) ice sessions conducted by instructors from Hockey Calgary with the assistance of volunteers designed around the FUNdamentals of hockey. Parents will benefit by attending the mandatory parents meeting presented by Hockey Calgary Executive Director, Kevin Kobelka where they will receive a copy of the Timbits Manual and have an opportunity to ask questions or share any concerns they may have.

  • Registration will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019
  • The program cost is $20.00 paid at time of registration and limited to 360 participants
  • Participants will recieve a Hockey Calgary Jersey, Water bottle and a Sidney Crosby Toque.
  • Participants must be registered for the current season, and must select their association on the form

ALL SESSIONS WILL BE HELD FROM MONDAY, AUGUST 26 - THURSDAY AUGUST 29 AT MAXBELL ARENA

 

Timbits Learn To Play EARLY AFTERNOON Sessions 

Available to ALL Associations

Date: Monday, August 26 - Thursday, August 26

Location: Maxbell Arena - 1001 Barlow Trail SE

Time:  Ice times are available from: 

  • 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. 

Parents Information Session: Tuesday, Aug 27 following your ice session in the silver room

 

Timbits Learn To Play LATE AFTERNOON Sessions 

Available to ALL Associations 

Date: Monday, August 26 - Thursday, August 29

Location: Maxbell Arena - 1001 Barlow Trail SE

Time:  Ice times are available from:

  • 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • 4:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. 
  • 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Parents Information Session: Tuesday, Aug 27 following your ice session in the silver room

 

VOLUNTEER COACH

Hockey Calgary will provide qualified instructors to lead the ice sessions but a minimum of 5 parent volunteers are required to assist with the drills.  No experience is necessary, just be comfortable on skates and have a stick, helmet, gloves and lots of enthusiasm!  Instruction will be provided at the start of each ice session with drill activity diagrams posted at each station.
