A Special Event Sanction should be requested any time a team or Associations plans to participate in an event or activity that is considered to be outside normal hockey programming.

The Hockey Alberta Game and Conduct Committee has adopted the following to help Associations determine if the event or activity they are planning falls within the acceptable guidelines for sanctioning.

Request a Special Event Sanction via Hockey Alberta's Event Sanctioning Requests page.

1.     Click "Sanctioning and Permits."

2.     Use the Hockey Calgary login:

·      Username: Hockey Calgary

·     Password: calgary

3.     There are some boxes that are not mandatory, the following is a list that must be entered  along with the information that should be entered:

1. Minor Hockey Association: Name of the Team's Association
2. Division: Check the appropriate box
3. Contact Person:  Name of contact person
4. Residence Phone/Business Phone: At least one must be completed
5. Email: The approved sanction will be sent to this email
6. Team(s) involved: Team name
7. Type of Function: Team Building, Development, Fundraising (pick one of these only)
8. Start Date: Start date of the event
9. Finish Date: Finish date of event
10. Check Boxes: Check the box that best describes the type of event
11. Time: The time span coverage is being requested for (i.e.: 6:00-9:00pm)
12. Location/Facility: Name or location the event is being held
13. Description of Event (be specific): A more detailed description of all activities involved during the event

4.     Hockey Calgary will review the requests and an email will be auto-generated. 

5.     If there are conditions placed upon the Sanction a note will appear at the top of the  Sanction outlining those conditions.
